Stratus Worldwide is a vintage guitar acquisition, sales, authentication, and appraisals service based in Silver Lake, Los Angeles.

Started in 2022 by Taylor Barefoot, a multi-instrumentalist, engineer, producer, and music gear expert, Stratus evaluates, certifies, and appraises high-value and/or celebrity-owed guitars, amplifiers, and studio gear. We also purchase, sell, and consign select vintage guitars and amplifiers.

ABOUT TAYLOR BAREFOOT:

A lifelong vintage guitar obsessive, Taylor has spent decades in and out of the studio, experimenting with different recording tools and instruments, with which he would compose wide-ranging soundscapes.

After attending Berklee College of Music in Boston, Taylor started Taylor Barefoot Productions, a professional recording studio where he engineered, produced, and played various instruments on thousands of recordings from 2003 to 2015. Even as a producer/engineer, Taylor held a unique fascination with vintage guitars and amplifiers — collectibles that were already increasing in value and becoming more enticing for players and investors alike.

After relocating the studio to Los Angeles in 2015, Taylor had the incredible good fortune of meeting and working for/ with Drew Berlin — one of the famous Burst Brothers and renowned creator of Guitar Center’s Vintage Department.

After coming on to assist Drew in his recording studio in 2017, Taylor quickly began assisting with transporting, evaluating, appraising, authenticating, and selling vintage guitars and amplifiers of the highest imaginable caliber.

Through this immersion into the world of vintage instruments, Taylor has not only worked with and evaluated the most coveted and exclusive gear in the world, he has helped innumerable professional musicians, producers, and connoisseurs assemble a collection of truly inspirational tools for creating and playing music.
